I asked this on another forum and just thought I'd get your $0.02 here as well. Is it me or does everyone have a myspace page?
It seems at least in the Ball python world, everyone from the hobbyist to some of the biggest breeders already have or are working on a myspace page. Is this thing really this HUGE?
Maybe I'm an old fart, but I thought myspace was for pre-teens, teens and the older guys on Dateline NBC trying to date them!
I read somewhere that there are thousands of reptile enthusiast on myspace and everyone apparently is trying to tap into them. Are there any Boa breeders on myspace yet?
How many members here have a myspace page and can you explain it's growth/attraction to us old farts?

Honestly there are alot of reptile hobbyists, breeders and keepers alike on myspace. Myspace is used for alot of things whether it be for Dating, keeping up with friends that are across the country or networking regardless of the business or group of people your networking with. So many people have myspace pages young and old. A few bands and even models have become famous and paid just from getting their name out there and having a page.
Just go to myspace.com and under the search box type in Boa or Boas... you'll be suprised how many people you'll find that keep them and breed them.
Yes alot of people do have myspace pages... for me it started out for networking with other dj's and beat producers, later on I started finding alot of friends that I hadn't talked to for many many years! now it's just an all around thing for me... I keep up with my friends, people stop by my page and message me or try to add me to their friends whether it be for networking musicwise or reptilewise... It's cool. Your also allowed to keep up to 300 pictures in your gallery as well as videos!

I won't mention names, but I've seen all types of breeders creating myspace pages lately. From hobbyist with a few snakes to the largest (12,000sqft breeding facility breeders) to all types of well known breeders.
I'm just shocked! All this time I thought myspace was for kids, teens and the pervs who love them...LOLOL.

Yeah no doubt. As of right now there is around 173,925,985 people on myspace, so the odds of seeing some one on it you may know, or know of is pretty good.
I have been using myspace for a while now, mostly to keep up with old friends in my home town.
I dont really like myspace much any more, its to slow and there is to much junk on it and people trying to get your acount info.
David.

173,925,985 users....
Now I see why it is attracting breeders/sellers to reach potential customers. I remember when the few breeders that had a myspace were just those who had a myspace page and just happened to have snakes. Now you've got Big/Pro breeders logging on to myspace with specific pages to attract potential customers and spread the word.
Does anyone know how many or what % of those 173,925,985 are reptile enthusiast? I think I read it somewhere that the # is 1000's or 10,000's.
Times sure do change, the 1st time I heard of myspace through Dateline NBC and all those pervs!

I have one, and have had for quite some time. I have gotten back with friends from High School more than anything. But I have also gotten a lot of friends from here and other forums as well that I talk to on a regular basis.
Now I make damn sure my kids dont have one because of the pervs out there. The main thing I dont like is the porn bots that go in there and have you friend requests for looking at the webcam and crap like that. There are filters for all that crap but if you turn them on your more likely to not find any of the people that you want to find you? So I just deny them and go on about my day :D

It's amazing at the rate that site has grown. I read somewhere that Youtube cost the owner $10,000 to set up and within 1-3yrs he sold it to the owner of Fox networks for $750,000,000!

The great thing about america is the cash floating around everywhere and anyone can grab it. All you got to do is try something and dont be scared to fail!
Myspace is for everyone, people who think that myspace is for kids and the men that take advantage of them is just plain stupid.. I am not tryin to call people names, but think about it, you can select the reason why you are on myspace, it says right there "Networking" duh lol [ROFLMAO] Besides they have zoo's, parks, schools, gyms, and tons of other places that people can go to "stalk" girls, its the not the place's fault its what people do with it!
Blame it on the sick people, not the website. Also just FYI I am making a myspace for my breeding program but for now this is mine...
