You'd have to be very successful to make a living out of it, also it'll cost a TON to start out and you won't neccessarily make it up for a bit.
Maybe start breeding and eventually if you're getting enough money then you can quit your main job.. otherwise, i'd say don't risk it. There are a few people who do live very well off of reptiles, but not everyone can win. :p

Something I've learned in the few months I have owned snakes and been perusing websites such as this, is that although there are a million breeders/sellers of snakes, there are only a few names that float around and everyone knows. Those folks have been in the business a long time, and I'm sure it took them years to get anywhere close to the point they are at now.
Ask yourself how much time and money you have to dedicate specifically to a breeding project, and go from there.

yip there is money to be made if you put 100% into it
i used to breed cornsnakes as a lightie in high school
just for pocket money i would only sell babies to pet stores at half the selling price My mom helped me out with a bit of mulla so i invested into 200 corns.
all being NORMAL corns the second year i bred atleast 80% of them
selling evrything without hold backs.
i even sold all my adults at a good price to invest into better snakes that year
if you breed your own animals for feeding.
it helps save a lot of money
so you ask if it is possible to make money out of snakes
yes but how much money is enough.:049[1]: :049[1]: :049[1]: :049[1]:
