I love snappers. I can say they are my favorite turtle. In Mass we used to catch so many in the summer. Im in Fl now and cant find any anywhere. I would love to go buy one.

Can we keep snappers as "pets" in Florida?

They are cool. I seen one that lived in a ditch. Many said alligator snapper. Ugly spud. Darn big!

Im not 100% sure but I think the law is for alligator snappers. I dont think there will be any promblem to keep a common snapper. I really want a snapper. I havent had one since Mass. That was about 8 years ago.

I would think they would be all over the place in florida. I have an uncle in north carolina who has caught them while fishing. He's told me he has caught some big snappers on nightcrawlers. He simply cuts his line when he realizes there's a big snapper on the other end. I have heard that the common snappers from the north are the largest. Not sure if there is any truth to it.
