need a little advice

Hey everyone.. I got my first red tail boa the other day and I have a 45 watt night light w/ a ceramic heater, it gets hell of hot underneath but the thermo i put in there only reads 73 and I have it midway.. the light is on the far left side.. I put bedding in the aquarium and he stays underneath it.. Do I need a higher watt light?

1 ft' x 2 1/2 ft' .. I believe.. I bought a 100 watt light and now its 90 degrees.. a lot better!

umm..paul..i hope tha the basking spot is 90 degrees..the ambient temp. should be between 78-80 dgrees with a basking spot of 88 90 degrees..
