She's 3-4 years old if i remember right. Got a younger male he's about 8-10 inches from front to back.

Great Sulcata. I like it when they are babies and have nice round, smooth shells. I don't really like the way their shells get all bumpy.

Great little Sulcata! She doesn't look bad at all in terms of pyramiding either...

The jury is still out on what EXACTLY causes pyramiding, but the last good report I read went in depth on the subject of humidity in relation to diet... Not so much related to just animal protein.

Thank's. i've talked to some folks that feel pyramiding can also be linked to improper amounts of UV( lack of). This girl has had Uv off and on most of her life, where as the male didn't have as much available. And he does have a bit more pyramiding than we'd like. So we've set him up accordingly. So we should see if it has any positive results.

I'm coming to my own personal conclusion that pyramiding is caused by any number of things - and not all of them may necessarily be an indicator of health.

I've seen some wonderfully healthy and large sulcatas with grotesque pyramiding... And personally, I'm kind of a fan of mild pyramiding :-) I just think it looks neat.
